Raoul & the Wisemen @ Dvorec Jeruzalem

Nizozemska zasedba Raoul & the Wisemen je že dolgo povezana s Slovenijo, saj je frontmana Raoula Wijsmo neformalno "posvojila" slovenska družina in je tu preživel kar nekaj časa. Njegova skupina je pri nas že velikokrat nastopila, med drugim na Festivalu Bled, Festivalu Kanal, Festivalu EPK v Mariboru, PikniKoncertu v Ljubljani itd.

Raoula Wijsmo je izjemno navdušil pogovor z Noahom Charneyjem in profesorico Svetlano Slapšak o slovenski in slovanski mitologiji (o kateri pripravljata knjigo z naslovom Slovanski miti - izšla bo pri založbi Thames & Hudson jeseni 2023). Še zlasti ga je pritegnil mit o povodnem možu, tako da je na njegovi podlagi ustvaril štiri pesmi, ki jih bomo slišali v sklopu njihovega koncerta.

Dutch singer-songwriter Raoul Wijsma has a special connection to Slovenia. He spent time there as a teenager and was unofficially adopted by a Slovene family. Raoul returns to Slovenia every year to visit, and has performed numerous concerts in Slovenia with his popular band, Raoul & the Wisemen. He's returning this summer for a special tour which combines his band's original songs with a Slovenia-specific project.

In this concert, Raoul & the Wisemen will play a band set of their own work, combined with a performance of the four new songs they've written and a recital of a new version of Povodni Moz, written by writer Noah Charney and professor Svetlana Slapsak.
